A practice built around one kind of letter.
Linx Tax Defence handles HMRC enquiries, investigations and disclosures. Not bookkeeping, not payroll, not year-end accounts — the correspondence that arrives when HMRC has questions.
Why specialisation matters here
HMRC enquiry work sits between two disciplines. It needs someone who can read the statutory footing of a notice and know what it actually compels. It also needs someone who can read a set of accounts and know what the records will show once HMRC asks.
Handling both is what keeps a reply accurate the first time. A response that has to be corrected later is the kind that invites the next question.
How we work
- Fixed fees against defined stages, quoted before any work starts
- No hourly billing, so the length of an enquiry is our problem, not yours
- Every response to HMRC drafted by a chartered certified accountant
- We answer what was asked, and say when something falls outside the enquiry
- We refer a matter on when it needs specialist counsel
What we will tell you plainly
We do not publish success rates, client numbers or average savings, because we have no audited basis for any of them and inventing them would be the first sign not to trust the rest. We do not publish testimonials until there are real, consented ones to publish.
We will not tell you how your enquiry will end. Nobody honestly can at the point a letter arrives, and a practice that offers you that certainty is selling something other than representation.
